I've seen that Clinique are advertising for consultants, and that the initial stage is a 10 min telephone interview, on the background of the company and products. Does anyone know if you need to have actual cosmetic experience? And also what kind of questions they ask at this stage?Do you need cosmetic experience to get a job with Clinique?
I am a Clinique Rep. The initial phone interview basically asks you about drug use, theft, etc. They also do a quick personality test over the phone, asking some crazy questions. If you progress to the personal interview your poise and appearance are very important. I was a flight attendant, but always had an interest in the cosmetic industry, so I'd read up on many of their newer products and could converse easily about their benefits. If you are hired, you'll go through plenty of Clinique classes and get tons of freebies. That's the really fun part - lots of free makeup! Every couple of months we receive what's called ';gratis'; and we're given a $200 shopping spree at Clinique. We also receive stuff via mail every month, seasonal promotions, gifts, new products to try - it's fun. At Christmas Clinique gifted each associate with a sterling and diamond ring from Links of London. Not bad! You will be expected to work HARD. There's a lot of research and reading involved. You must also meet daily sales goals as well as doing at least two community visits during the year. That can be anything from doing makeup for a fund raiser fashion show to visiting offices with samples and literature. Working at the counter means keeping up with inventory, ordering, customer records, etc. You'll be tested constantly to see if you are knowledgeable about products and if you are performing makeovers and consultations up to Clinique's standards. They even have rules about how you hold a brush! My favorite part of the job is doing makeup for brides - that's always fun. If you work in a department store you will receive a commission on top of your hourly wage, you can really pad your check if you sell well. Give it a try, you just might love it!Do you need cosmetic experience to get a job with Clinique?
You may not need need actual sales experience though it will probably be preferred. They will most likely ask you questions regarding clinique products as you will need to know their product line inside and out in order to be a consultant. Think questions a potential customer may ask such as recommending a makeup/moisterizer/facial cleanser that is good for their complexion or needs. They will probably want to know more about yourself and why you are interested in the job, and what kind of experience you made have had before you are interviewed in person.
hope this helps
Not usually, They like to see customer service and retail experience.
its mainly selling.
It helps but no. They will fully train you and it is super fun too.
